Title: So, remember that Nintendo Power article?

Meeeemorieeees...

Just figured a little historic preservation was in order.

You know, I don't recall much discussion about that "fire of all creation" (mentioned on page 5 as part of the background leading up to the Donner Wels mission).  Gotta wonder if it's something really important, or just another "Elixir of Youth" scenario.  Somehow I can't shake the notion of Barrett discovering an ancient barbecue grill...

The vibe I'm getting from the Klicke Lafonica is that it's the real deal. Between the mysteries of Barrel's absence and Barrett's presence, I can't help but think that the former turned into the latter by the aid of this artifact.

I kinda hoped they'd not be THAT transparent, but I don't know.

I guess the real telling detail would be how much of a backstory Barrett had.  He didn't strike me as a "new recruit" to the Bright Bats or anything, but I guess they could have gone that way.

Make of this what you will:

Barrett is the impromptu leader and educator of Klickelan Island's weakest gang, the Bright Bats! But he's training them hard so that they can rise to the top. He likes the words duty and obligation. With a passion for adventure, he spends his days thrillseeking and getting into trouble.

Strangely old-fashioned at times, he's also mysteriously well-versed in the art of digging--much about Barrett is an enigma. He also seems to have some connection to Roll and the Bonnes.

I don't know if it's transparency or just us having too much time to think about it. Ingame I wouldn't expect Barret's identity to remain mysterious too long. You can only stretch it so thin before one must elaborate on why this guy can stand on equal footing with Rock.

Then again... Axl.

Thanks for the scans.

I find this oddly hilarious. Namely because you're never here, and you came out of nowhere with this comment.

Well, I figured SOMEBODY would appreciate them.

In all fairness, every battle that Axl was ever in involved teamwork with another hero.  I'm also not willing to accept that everyone in Legends is as inept as the average NPCs appear; after all, just look at what "player-controlled character" logic does for a Bonne robot.

Still, point taken on time to digest.

I think he meant its just odd to see somebody who pretty much vanished.

Nothing offensive, just minor shock and awe.

I dunno about that, 950000 zenny might be a huge investment for him (http://www.rockmanpm.com/?p=dash/rockmandash2/weapons).
