Yeah, even as much as this appeals to me, I'm still not going to pay monthly for an MMO, or any game really.

Maybe they'll switch it if it doesn't have alot of success. I'd sure as hell would love to have a GOOD console MMO.

As would I.  I'm hoping that maybe they switch as well.  Also, how is the Speedster class the slowest?

It's not the slowest, it's just not... speedster-like. If you look at the gameplay videos, pretty much any agility hero can catch up with speedsters. Speedsters just run a little bit faster than other heroes. Granted, I wasn't expecting light speed, but we're talking slower than most cars. That's not what I expected from a speedster class. I might as well pick a flying class and have fun jetting through the air, since the speedster class is just normal running in most games.

Really?  Well that definitely sucks.

I just know the other classes will be kinda limited. GL will have very limited constructs (I've just seen beam, ball and I'm expecting to see glove too), agility-type will just be the most well-rounded and the most used, as we've seen an agility-type character being used on EVERY SINGLE VIDEO AND DEMO. Everyone will have guns, which kinda defeats the superhero motif, and it'll just be a fun little romp with good Jim Lee design.

So, I'm dropping my excitement and my need for such a game. Will now focus on SW:TOR.

Yeah, pretty much same here.  Although I never had much excitement due to the possible pricing.

After seeing this video, my excitement is renewed. I did pay 15 a mount for CoH, and this looks better.

Fastforward to about the 4 min mark for actual gameplay, then stick around after the rescue for some end game content. A suit made from the FORTRESS? WIN, EPIC WIN.

DC Universe Online
Publisher: Sony Online Entertainment
In Stores: 4th Quarter 2010
PS3

After several years in development, the massively-multiplayer online action/role-playing game DC Universe Online will finally be ready for the masses this fall. The game's executive creative director is DC's co-publisher Jim Lee, and its story elements were provided by DC writer Geoff Johns. Playing in familiar locations like Metropolis and Gotham City, you'll get to create your own hero or villain and become what Sony calls "an active force for good or evil" as you form alliances with (or become the enemy of) such popular DC characters as Batman, Superman, the Joker, and Solomon Grundy. The game is expected to be much more action-oriented than traditional MMORPGs, with lots of objects to interact with and destructible environments that are frequently invaded by organized groups of villains with dastardly agendas.

Figured it was relevant. The pics in the magazine look great.

OH [parasitic bomb] IM USING LINK AND I ACCIDENTALLY FINAL SMASHED A CUCCO OH GOD HELP

I'd buy this, except my mother got pissed when she found out I bought a PS3. That, and I don't have the means of paying a monthly rate for an MMO. Time to look for another PS3 game! ...When I have a source of income, that is.

There are pretty great cheap PS3 games. If you don't have ANY cash, why not mooch off a friend's PS3 account and get the games he's got there? PS3 accounts can be shared between 5 different consoles.
