I looked around and couldn't find anyone posting or talking about this, so maybe I just didn't search enough. But it seems that the Mega Man Ruby Spears cartoon sales pitch was genuinely found on its original VHS format just about two weeks ago, and Protodude over at the Rockman Corner did a digital restoration to make it as clear as possible. Four more years and maybe this would've actually remained this way rather than get screwed by focus groups and the western animation trends of the time..

(Amusingly the tape comes with two promotion commercials for The Wily Wars and Mega Man V for the Game Boy. Apparently ol' Rock didn't even have a jumping animation in Wily Wars at the time. :P)

Gaming / Yooka-Laylee - The Rare-surrection
« on: May 02, 2015, 10:59:18 PM »

Banjo-Kazooie and old Rareware fans unite, because some of the old devs from before Microsoft ran them into the ground got together to form Playtonic Games and start up their own title; Yooka-Laylee, a spiritual successor to the good ol' bear and bird duo. Like a lot of games lately, they went to Kickstarter to help fund the game but unlike most actually had a game basis to work with rather than simply a concept. A sample video is available on the site, alongside two song samples from Grant Kirkhope and David Wise.

Unlike when I posted Mighty No. 9 almost two years ago to see if people wanted to support it, though, here's the thing; yesterday the Kickstarter began, and around 40 minutes or less the game already met its goal of 270k in US dollars. They've pretty much broken all the primary stretch goals in a single day, when Grant was expecting, say, a week for the base funding to go through. Since there was no topic otherwise for this, I figured I might as well post it to spread the info around.

And also this.  8D

Emulation / So DeSmuME got an experimental update..
« on: May 06, 2014, 08:46:19 AM »
As the title indicates, a recent experimental branch, as far as I know, of DeSmuME was released that has the capability to increase the internal resolution of the emulation. It's probably going to tank your framerate, but the quality difference is astounding.

Here's the branch link, the site's in japanese but it's easy enough to figure out and the emulator itself is still in english.

Gaming / Mighty No. 9

Keiji's trying to get a Kickstarter backing up what seems to be his own spiritual successor to Mega Man. Not sure if this would fit other game topics or Mega Man news, but i'm going with the former because it's a series / title of its own.

The Kickstarter page.

THE KICKSTARTER FOR MIGHTY No. 9 HAS ENDED!
However, if you still wish to donate after the fact, you can do so on the page through a Paypal link they set up!

Now I realize GTA isn't everyone's cup of tea, whether it be the controversy, gameplay style or otherwise. I myself am not a big fan of the games usually. But I figure that someone on Perfect Memories likes the series, and thought that some might like to discuss it, so here you go with its debut trailer.

Also a GTA General, I suppose.

Off The Wall / The Objection Topic
« on: January 05, 2009, 11:15:28 PM »
We all know of the infamous [objection!] stuff, but just how big is it? Post your favorite objection-related stuff, whether it be poses, jokes, or the like.

How will YOU object?

(Made out of sheer boredom and inactivity)

Gaming / NXE (New Xbox Experience)

Apparently tomorrow those with a 360 and Xbox Live will be able to get an update, provided they have a hard drive, that'll change the 360 dashboard into something like this: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/NXE/

What're your thoughts and opinions about this? Remember, the update's tomorrow!

ZX / Odd Moments - ZX Style
« on: November 12, 2008, 05:15:48 AM »
List various moments in the ZX series you thought were odd, whether in-game or cutscene, and laugh at another's crazy expense.  :P

Personally, one odd moment for me was facing Cronotrigger the second time in the "fortress" as Grey in ZXA. Now, when he said, "I'm going to take my time manhandling you," as Ashe, that caught me off guard. When he said the same damn thing as Grey, I was horrified.

Fan Creations / Nexus' Art/Projects/Insanity

I'm putting up my own stuff again, for you all to enjoy/laugh at/criticize/judge/etc. Damn server issues...

First up is a battle graphic for Jack, the main hero of an RPG Maker XP game i'm making: Dreams of the Abyss (working title). On this work you'll see my drawn image next to the original graphic. Personally, I think it's decent, except for the metal thing on his shirt; I think that was part of the belt. >_>;;

EDIT: Changed the outlines, and made the metal piece go down to the belt.

Next is good ol' Masaru, and most should be able to remember this image. I made it by emulating a drawing anime guide over on Newgrounds. Also take note of the befuddled Sigma in the background.  :D

Posted in the desktop thread, I tried to give Rikoh a sort of colored in look, but I feel that I failed in this attempt. Should I just give him normal colors, maybe a bit of shading?

EDIT: I changed it around, gave it more detail. Rikoh also looks more natural, like he's a paper cutout. ^_^

I was bored, so I made a quick comic (left to right, top to bottom). Now, the first thing to note; i've never watched Star Trek, thus the inaccuracies in this comic; it's for shits and giggles.

Also, when will the double post feature be back online?
