You should always double the size, if you want to zoom.

Yea, the control sceheme really sucks right now for the momment. About up/down/left/right being asdf or something. :\

I do not think that's the actual real program though. It's a seperate one that 2ch user Dr. Juicy is making. I think it's just temporarily.
But yea they're defintely making progress. :) Someone recently just posted magazine scans of all the first 8 levels for the level design because the www.bghq.com website unfortanetly does not have a megaman 8 section. :(

Didn't they check VGMaps.com first?  (Although admittedly, the maps are also missing the enemies, which is something that really annoys me on that site.)

Uh oh edit:
One of the main programmers, told me they do NOT want this project being spread around, cause the laws in japan are much more strict than in the US. And they worry they might be contacted by capcom and get into trouble if that happens.
I don't know if it's actually "OK" for this thread to be here now anymore. :-/ One other japanese person started to feel a little worrysome. (i never advertised anything anywhere, that's just what they do not want)

So, anyways... I don't mean to pound anything, but does anybody know how the Map Editor for Rock7FC is supposed to work? If nothing else, it would be cool to see a Rock7FC Endless Stage, which should be as easy as segmenting and minorly editing the existing levels; and could be expanded to include far more, as well...

It's possible to do it with table files and a hex editor.
It's just tedious work to find out what hex number is which symbol, but it IS possible to hack the text.

I would do the hack in the same way I hacked the text for Mega Man 2. o.o

If I remember correctly, didn't Vixy also mention that she was researching a way to edit the uneditable text (ex. opening, subtitles under each boss' name, Proto Man speech, etc)?

Uh.. IIRC, the Boss Names/subtitles aren't text. They're sprites. Just edit the pictures, it's that easy. image/...

bosstext.bmp = boss names
menu.bmp = weapon screen (without weapons)
menuitem.bmp = weapons (names and icons)
select.bmp = the stage select screen (boss names and all)

...I know I saw the underlying text somewhere, too...

Yea it would be really hard to edit that stuff. (anything other than the BMP images in the image folder). I don't know how you'd find all the japanese text without hex editing it.

But as far as I know, the program was coded using LGP (light game programming, which is a jap-only programming language). I once found the website for it, there's no english version of the language apparently at least not that I was able to find)
