I'm pleased that so many people are being inspired to make fangames with N64Mario's Engine. Its exactly as I had hoped. I also want to try and accompany the final release of the engine with an instruction manual so anyone can easily make a game from it.

Yoku Man doesn't want you knowing his bad point/weakness. You'll have to find that out for yourself.  :P

Um yea that's the basic RPM plan for all games, both official and fan-made, but the game has to be playable first.
Or have enough info for me to make those pages. >U<

We can still provide quite a bit. We have alot of the game done, it just hasn't been put into the engine. Of course we'll hold back on any spoilerish info like weaknesses, passwords and things. I'll have a word with Phil to see if we can put together some pics and information for you. the rest of the information we can provide later after the release.

Hey Vixy. I noticed you updated MegaPhils page on the Fan Projects section of the RPM site. I think we should arrange to include some more info soon for "Mega Man - Unlimited" (like what Rosenkreuzstillete has), for example: Boss stills, boss portraits, weapons, story, etc.

Here are some mock screenshots I made that could help us picture how the gameboy levels would look in NES style. I would also be willing to help make a Mega Man any or all of GB remakes with anyone who is willing. I intend to use N64Mario's engine. As I expect many others will when its released. I think "Mega Man - Unlimited" will inspire many to start making their own fangames with the engine.

Would these be helpful? I made them a while back for when N64Mario's engine is complete.

Air Man Stage.

Crash Man Stage.

Metal Man Stage.

Yea, the one that had the Double Jump ability was the one from Rockman 7. ^^

Did I mention that in Yoku Man's Data Card, he dislikes Rush? :)

Appreciate the comments Vixy. :) I love the attention Yoku Man is recieving lately. The fact people have done fanart of him already and done a remix to his song. I'm surprised no one has created a IAMYOKUMAN Youtube account yet, lol. I've been wanting to create a new video on my channel for a while now, I want to do a "Fact File" on the robot master, show off all the art and his known backstory.

He's gaining quite the cult fanbase. He's the Robot Master you love to hate. I'm surprised during all these games no-one at Capcom ever thought to base a Robot Master on the dissapearing blocks. Everyone wants to find and kill him for all the pain and suffering he's caused throughout all the original classic games with his blocks. Well now with "Mega Man - Unlimited", now you can, if you can find him.

Just remember, whenever you face a "dissapearing block" puzzle in any of the games just think "Yoku Man woz ere".  >0<

As for Yoku Man's stage. Yep KudosForce, it will be hard to beat. Expect not just a whole level full of Yoku Blocks... but new Yoku-related obstacles!  >BD

I always imagined his english translated name would be "Holo Man". And yeh thanks for the suggestion Vixy. I liked Shutsugen, but I decided on Yoku too even if it doesn't make much sense, it just sounds catchier and simpler.

I heard on the 22nd Birthday stream what the origins of Guts Man's name was, even if it doesn't make much sense to the english audience they still kept it in MM1. For the sake of his name sounding cool I'm tempted to keep his name as Yoku Man (instead of Shutsugen Man), cos "Yoku Blocks" seems to be the most recently used term for the "dissapearing blocks" as thats what the blocks are called in the R20 artbook.

Here are the lyrics to Yoku Man's song. It's called "Don't Trust Your Eyes".
Don't trust your eyes
What you see might not be What is real
I use my mind to redefine your reality

In this game of chess
I hope I get the best
Of all who challenge me
Step carefully; I'm the Master of Holography

I'm designed to aid accessibility
But this game has gotten a hold of me
My creator, lost to history,
Put this raging fire inside of me

Come and find me, if you're capable
I'm just hiding in plain sight
Don't try to cheat me; I won't stand for it
Prepare your mind; prepare to fight

Don't trust your eyes
What you see might not be What is real
I use my mind to redefine your reality

If you pass this test
Then we'll see who's the best
When you challenge me
Step carefully; I'm the Master of Holography

No mere mortal can match my intellect
I expect you'll give me my due respect
Just play by the rules and we'll be okay
Try to cheat me, and you will rue the day!

Day after day, and year after year
I've been searching for a mental peer
Try to match your wits against mine
Can you the answers divine?

Out from nowhere, the blocks and the monsters come
Now there's nowhere left for you to run
Can you find your way out of this predicament?
Fail and die; this is how I present it

This is my passion; this is what I live for
Test my foes in heart and brain
When you come through this trial by fire, you're
Battle-ready if you don't go insane

Don't trust your eyes
What you see might not be What is real
I use my mind to redefine your reality

You're almost there, but you'd better beware
Of what's in front of thee
Step carefully, I'm the Master of Holography!
As for me, well, I pretty much like the whole line-up! owo It's a bit difficult to pick favorites, given how appealing and well-designed they are.

That said, concerning Yoku Man, I wouldn't be surprised if his notoriety inspires a certain Japanese fan rock group, to compose a tribute song for him. ;) Mark my words!

Actually a friend has already written lyrics for his song, and they're awesome. If only I could find a good singer, some one who can put the right voice to it. It appears to be sung from Yoku Man's perspective, I'd imagine the voice would be low and commanding, but with a hint of cunning and mysteriousness.

Adding those lyrics to this remix, for example, would be awesome.

I Really don't Want Phil to Cancel His Fangame Beacause of Capcom......i hope something good happens...

No worries, Blaze. Our enthusiasm to finish the game continues to grow! We have some possible new titles for it and the engine is nearing a point where we can start testing playable levels.
This whole debacle with the English Mega Man 10 site I think would only draw more fans towards playing the fangame once its done. I think Comet Woman's stage is gonna be one of the more controversial stages in our game as it'll be recognisable. If its true and they give credit to Phil on the Mega Man 10 site, he's gonna become quite famous and make quite a few MM fan-artists quite jealous, methinks. :) I'm one.

Hopefully some good news regarding the issues with the site design. I have heard from MegaPhilX that Capcom-Unity have contacted Phil about this mess. They're offering to give credit on their site, Phil hasn't decided how to respond yet. I'll keep you posted.

The email postcard was the first mistake and MegaPhil got it fixed yesterday. Then this site came up. I'm not sure what Phil is going to do regarding that but rather than create an uproar let Phil handle this as civil as he can.

And we're close to choosing a new name for our game now. Its taken us months to think of one. This debacle has forced us to hasten up the decision.

Now that I look at the logo of Phil´s MM10 it looks the same like the one Capcom is using...

I think the sooner we change the name of our fangame, the better. This is dangerous territory.
And no worries about the logo, the number ten is slightly different in font to the one Phil used.

I faceplamed when I saw this. The Background tiles from the sides are taken from MegaPhil's Tank Man stage. The blue and white striped background is the backing for MegaPhils stage select screen and as you summized, that picture IS of Comet Woman's stage. :O What the heck! I hope the designer of the site DID get Phil's permission, or else this could get someone into trouble!

Oh and the portrait boxes are our stage select portrait boxes too!

Indeed, Zan. Indeed. owob Is it any wonder why many in the MM community are so inspired, to do their own 8-bit MM games?

Yeh I'd like to add that me and N64Mario have learned quite a big deal about Mega Man and its 8-Bit game physics, whilst creating our engine for the fangame. There are things like the x and y and velocities of walking, jumping, that many fans would take for granted and may never had really noticed all these years. (Did you know Mega Man can only ever cross a four tiled pit, at most, by tip toeing on the edge?) Its amazing the things you need to know to get the 8-Bit Mega Man gameplay feel authentic.

Kudos to the makers of Mega Man 9 for keeping that aspect of the Mega Man Experience, its the really basic feel and platform physics that can make it so challenging and enjoyable. I feel that Mega Man 10 will definately improve on these things, more challenges that'll go alongside the simple nature of platform physics.

You can't imagine how shocked and delighted me and MegaphilX were when we heard the news. I couldn't get any sleep last night, bad time to learn such exciting news, just before bed.

Do not fear folks, we always anticipated MM10 might come out for real, and we always planned to rename our fangame. Whats intruiging though is the storyline for MM10, I think our fangame will bridge between MM9 and MM10 perfectly (just like Mega Man and Bass with MM8 and MM9).

This has motivated us to get our game finished all the more! This is a really exciting time. I'll definately be attending the Capcom Unity Stream on December 16th, and I'll make sure Phil attends too.
