Yasuhiko -
By way of adapting it into anime, I hope the "very first Gundam" I proposed will become "the new standard".
This should be something that henceforth be long loved by many people including the coming generations.
I would like to express my thanks to everybody who is shouldering this huge task.
I send out my support call filled with anticipations.

○内田社長
漫画という第一走者からアニメという第二走者が預かるバトンの大切さを
自覚し、その重責を担う覚悟を持って始動します。
We are aware of the importance of the passing of the baton from manga, the first runner, to anime, the second runner. It is with this big responsibility in mind that we are starting this project.

Oh boy, it's an anime adaption of a manga adaption of the original Gundam anime!

Isn't that exciting?

I hope it uses a style similar to Gundam Unicorn. That would look [tornado fang]ing beautiful.

It's airing... 3 years after it was announced.

Genius.

Just finished watching the original not too long ago, so it's still fresh in my mind. Sure it's showing its age a bit, but I'm not too sure remaking it is necessary or a good idea at all. I'll give it a shot though... when it releases in 2014 >_>

Definately looking forward to it. I can totally see the merit of the original series and how it has forever changed the face of mecha anime in Japan, but getting through the TV series has been an endeavour for me for years and I'm still not through it (but I saw the movie version of it years ago).

I hope that they are not going to pull that stunt like with the Zeta movies again, splicing together old animation with new. I want all newly animated One Year War.

Also, what are the odds of them actually taking chances and hiring an all-new voice cast instead of going back to the likes of Furuya and Ikeda?

I would really say that that happening is quite impossible.

Although that said they still have to replace the likes of Sayla, whose VA has been dead for 10 years this February.
