Hideo Kojima has been Tweeting about a "top secret project" over the past few months. Today, he revealed the identity the project.

"The Nintendo conference ended at the Nokia Theater. We'll be showing 3DS MGS in the Nintendo booth on the E3 show floor. Be sure and check it out running directly on the system. We've at last been able to reveal it. This is the "Secret Project" that I'm directing."

The 3DS Metal Gear Solid game is also the third and final game from the Kojima Productions E3 portal site, where it is referred to as "Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D," suggesting that it may have a connection with the second PlayStation 2 Metal Gear Solid game.

Little info is know about this 3DS title right now, but one things for sure. It looks beautiful.

... coming soon to NDS

The engineers at Sega have discovered an all-new way to repackage the Sonic the Hedgehog titles that you know and may still love in the just-announced Sonic Classic Collection for Nintendo DS.

Sega will squeeze 16-bit platforming adventure classics Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles onto a DS card and ship it to retail March 2010. The Nintendo DS collection will also feature a handy save anywhere feature, the kind of save state options that emulators have offered for years. Or so I've heard from friends.

Also included will be "a wealth of extras including video and collectable pictures," according to the official Sega Europe blog.

Gaming / Ninokuni (DS & PS3 topic)
« on: September 26, 2009, 09:52:07 PM »
Ninokuni is a collaboration between Level 5 and Studio Ghibli. This is Ghibli's first video game project.

I must say that this looks like a promising title so far, with many beautiful cinematics. We'll see how this shapes up when it's released 2010 in Japan.

- The DBZ TV series is receiving an extensive "refresh" for Japanese television airing

- This is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of DBZ

- While based on the original animation production, it is being updated with new technology

- This includes extending the frames for formatting on an HD 16:9 display (note: not cropping the image)

- The original Japanese cast is re-grouping to re-voice the show (where available, and unfortunately not including those that have passed on, such as Hirotaka Suzuoki [Tenshinhan])

- Sound effects are being updated

- Unlike the general show, the OPs and EDs are being completely redone

- While not in the above announcement, other reports are noting that the number of episodes is being reduced from 291 to approximately 100

- This begins 05 April 2009 @ 9 am

The wraparound jacket band on the 20th volume of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist manga will confirm on Friday that a new television anime series is in the works. A new anime series was a topic of much fan discussion for several months, but it was thrust into a more public spotlight last month when a management document was purportedly leaked from the BONES anime studio. The document listed Fullmetal Alchemist animator Yasuhiro Irie as "Hagane 2 kantoku" (Iron/Fullmetal 2 director).

A new commercial for FMA 2 was released, showing a few scenes from the anime. Not much info is known about it so far. Right now, we can only wait and see...
