For the first time you're actually posting something that isn't mediocre trash. I'm proud of you.
Hey, hey, everyone has many tastes... please respect that. =_=
I quite like the Fate series... though I'm not sure how I feel about the Vita version of the Visual Novel cropping the overall scenes of the game.
But thank you nonetheless.

but he did; final fantasy xiii
What do you guys make of this?!]

Sqaure has been stalling with Versus XIII long enough, and I have a suspicion that it's been pushed to the PS4.
Oops. (http://gematsu.com/2013/03/rumor-final-fantasy-versus-xiii-renamed-xv-moved-to-ps4)
Heh, if true that's both marketing genius and a dick move at the same time! XD
You never know with Square. I really wouldn't put it past them to pull this [parasitic bomb].
But I suppose it might be hard for people to not be pessimistic about things, given SE's track record. :\
To me, the battle system was the best thing about X-2.
Kotaku
As long it's the International versions (I never owned a proper copy of FFX, X-2 is just a plus for me.). I'm definitely getting these. Both are the International versions.
Both are the International versions.
The environments still look plain and boring. So I'm not the only one who thinks that, huh?
Comparison of launch week sales for the FFXIII series:
2009: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - 1,501,964
2011: Final Fantasy XIII-2 (PS3) - 524,217
2013: Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - 277,082
few more months till Bravely Default....*waiting*...
If I add in my 1.0 code for the ARR Client will it accepted it or do I have to re-purchase the game again to play it on my PC?
You could have if you had used the code back in September. Too late now.
Umm... I used the code and now have the PC version of the game so I don't think that's the case. -u-'
The writing in Final Fantasy has been a mixed bag since nine, I kind expect insane plots from SquarEnix nowadays. XDHeh, I know which one you mean... and yes, yes he can.
That being said Lightning Returns is pretty good, although seriously a certain returning boss from FFXIII-2 can go to hell. o//////o

But it is a port of the Android version, so it basically is.
They should've added the DS version of IV, instead. It was a far better game.
Yeah. X-2 ended on such a happy note (provided you actually did the right things to revive Tidus), and then this comes along and ruins it.
What's even worse is that in the story that takes place after that, Yuna's back in her Summoner garb and praying. Which completely undoes all the growth she had in X-2 (which culminated in her literally overcoming her sorrow and preventing another person from sacrificing themselves to save the world).
Really, Yuna and Tidus were already good together but after her growth in X-2 she matches him in craziness. And this ruins that.
ahahahaha FF13 on PC is still 50GB in size, in addition to that the game is locked at 720p which means it doesn't fit the screen and instead resides in a box.So basically Square screws up a good opportunity to make FF XIII better by not taking advantage of the superior capabilities of PCs? Lame. And jeez, it eats up 50GB? That's Metal Gear Rising and RE4 Ultimate HD Edition worth of hard drive space put together. How many of you wanna bet 10% of that is actual gameplay?
In case any PC Final Fantasy XIII players care
No one cares.I threw that "in case any cares" bit in there because I knew you'd respond. Phi is right, you are so...
P.S. True not giving a [parasitic bomb] would be not acknowledging it at all.
I just facepalmed when I heard about it.
Still waiting for 5 and 6 3DS remakes.
I actually want to see just how horribly pixelated the backgrounds be due to the upscaling, or what inevitable quirks come out of a port of a port of a port.My older brother has the Final Fantasy VII on PS1, both physically (I think he still has it) and on PSN (which he deleted to save space on what little is left on a 60GB hard drive for all of his other games), and from what I remembered playing a little bit of it on PS3, it looked gnarly upscaled to 1080p (where available) and not in a good way. Jagged edges and pixelation all over the place without the smoothing option on, and with smoothing on it looked blurred and was barely an improvement. This is like Fable Anniversary on PC all over again.

While the way they presented it at the conference was less than adequate...
While the way they presented it at the conference was less than adequate, I'm going to go ahead and disagree that it should be remade. Chances are the remake would cost more than it would be worth to make in the end.Yeah that might be the case unfortunately, even though I still want 5 and 6 remakes more.

How much you want to bet it would outsell every single entry in the "FF13 series"? Perhaps even all of them combined.
And really, what they will profit off of the remake isn't just financial. They will get back long time fan respect, and reawaken the fan base that they have alienated as of late. This wont just effect sales of the FF7 remake, but also future titles.
The thing that burns my ass is that FF7 is the one that would MOST benefit from being remade. It does NOT stand the test of time. Yet they constantly continue to refuse a remake, even after that PS3 tech demo that got everyone wanting it.It's times like these were the whole "fans does things better than the developers" thing comes into play. The PC version already has a modding community, and they proven that they can, at least, replace assets from the game -- textures, models, effects, sounds, the music, just about anything that can be modded to their ability -- to point the were the game almost looks like an updated PS2 port of sorts. Then again, probably the reason why there's a modding community in the first place because the original PC version back then was naff as it was based on earlier builds of the game if the Final Fantasy Wiki is to be believed. Other than the crap MIDI quality music, and from what I've read on TV Tropes, the PC version had some questionable system requirements for a Windows 95 game (on Windows 98, not so much), Chocobo Racing would freeze the game running on Windows XP, FMVs were lower quality than the PS1 version, and had some glitches here and there that were not present in the PS1 version. The newer version on Steam and the Square Enix Store at least fixed many of these issues, but like Nexus said, the music didn't get fixed 'til 2013 and some of the visuals looks off although that could be because Square's using a fan-made rendering tool for the newer PC version if the Wiki is be believed again.
The sheer disregard or misunderstanding for the fans' feelings on this is just mind boggling. At this point they practically owe the fans a remake.
Yeah that might be the case unfortunately, even though I still want 5 and 6 remakes more.At least you have better hope for those games than me wanting a remake of Parasite Eve...
Want FF4 on PC? Don't want to spend $15 bucks on it because holy [parasitic bomb] its a [tornado fang]ing port of an android port of a DS game?
I don't see the problem. My brother used to have the DS version Final Fantasy III, and other than annoying requirements to unlock the Onion Knight class, I had fun with that one.
I'd gladly shell out $15 for it because holy [parasitic bomb] it's an amazing game.
I imagine it would be good for LPers who want to LP the game and can't afford to mod their 3DS to capture DS and 3DS games without resorting to using emulators.Isn't there a capture card people can use to record footage from their 3DS (unless they're expensive)? I remember Vixy showcasing some gameplay footage off her 3DS when she upgraded her PC plus livestreamed some 3DS games like Azure Striker Gunvolt on Twitch a couple of times before.

Yeah but you have to mod your 3DS to use it, and its expensive (and probably discontinued), and it only works with normal non-XL models.I think it costed around $400-500 to do, I know a heavily underrated Let's Player opened up a tip jar to fund his during the Summer, and his subscribers funded it immediately because his community is pretty awesome.
We were talking about IV, not III.Whoops, I was thinking of III for some reason. So as punishment, I checked out FF IV on DS/PC to see what was I missing out on. Well now I know what to add to my ever-growing Steam wishlist...
Though that one Hummingway sidequest is still total bullshit.Indeed. I didn't really like the Augments either. I honestly preferred being able to swap out party members.
Squeenix loves shoving Lightning down everyone's throat. But then everybody can crap thunder! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0CXUv-xxtY) 8D
Oh, it's definitely intentional.
Squeenix loves shoving Lightning down everyone's throat.
So I hear not everyone who gets Type-0 HD will get the XV demo.Turns out the only 'guaranteed' method of demo access, is to get the collector's edition. Yep, they pulled a fast one on everyone again.
What's with SE being a bunch of assholes lately?
Have they? I just know they make terrible decisions sometimes. We're still on the PS3, rather than ports for the PS4 (although if the FFX/X-2 remasters are going to PS4, then the KH remixes are too probably), so there's no touchpad on a controller to use to mimic the touchscreen capabilities of 3D. Not to mention re-releasing an HD version when the game is still relatively fresh would [acid burst] off a lot of fans and such, and the 3DS is a relatively strong/popular system in Japan so there shouldn't be much worry about that in comparison to Capcom's methods. The Remixes are more so meant to get people hyped up and prepared for KH3 in one (or rather two) convenient location(s), and although it was relatively minor, Re:Coded did get some bare referencing in terms of plot in DDD. Odds are having its cutscenes on 2.5 as a refresher will have some relevance when 3 comes around.
Like including Re:Coded in the ReMIX instead of KH3D. No one wants that piece of [parasitic bomb].
Heck, even a cinematic movie would have been passable, though if it was a playable game, the ReMIX would be one of the greatest [tornado fang]ing collections in recent memory. Three of the greatest KH games on one disc.
SUCH a missed opportunity. Huge.
odd. I'd heard that every copy of type-0 hd came with the ffxv demo
"We're never going to release [the demo] as a stand-alone piece down the line," Scott Strichart, associate product marketing manager for Square Enix, wrote in the blog post. "Secondly, it's intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early - the demo will be limited to the 'Day One' edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it. So if the demo is something you think you might like, we highly encourage you to pre-order or to be quick about getting to the store on launch day, March 17th, 2015."
They did announce very early that they're trying to link all of the spin-off materials together in this game--which is the reason they justify making it episodic. They claim that this will be a much bigger game than the original.
I've never been a big fan of the action system from Kingdom Hearts. It always felt janky to me--especially casting spells. They were always so underwhelming and they seemed to miss a lot--maybe I was just bad at the game?
Which Kingdom Hearts are you talking about?I've only ever played KH1 and 2.
BbS perfected the battle system.
