I don't know if anyone is still posting here since last year. But I have to say.... Just got comic #45 in the mail, and....

THEY CHANGED ARTISTS.... WHY?????? I don't think I like the art style they did in this edition #. I liked the art style before #45. :(

Is this normal in the comic industry that a single company goes through different artists every now and then?

Going to rip this part out of context. Sakurai already stated they took Adventure Mode out because he didn't like that people uploaded all the videos to youtube and spoiled it.

Really, Mr. Sakurai? Players are gonna spoil the game no matter what kind of content is in the game. It's the internet. Live with it.

am I the only one who noticed the gun fire shots sound exactly like those from MegaMan X PSN games 4-6? If not, then I'm pretty sure I've heard those sound fx before somewhere.

The game is pretty old and sloppy for a Mega Man X game TBH. I played it when the game was still during the old DOS days.

When I open it up, I get a big window, but the game is in a top left corner, really small. I have to change the window display, and it screws up my settings when I try to experiment which mode does what. X_X

Nice effort though. But I think the entire game could be improved. Graphics aren't all that great either.

TAKE MY MONEY

... Ahem.
In non-game news, Japan will release an artbook of Ken Sugimori, the man behind all the official Pokemon art. It will cover artworks throughout his 25 year career, as well as an interview. May 27th, at 1998 yen.

Source, with cover art.

Remember that April Fools' joke by Google Maps? It seems that Google is sending out gifts to those that managed to catch all 151 Pokemon. Fill up a form with your contact information, and the gift will arrive in 4-6 weeks.

... Darnit. XD

Source.

Wait a minute..... Ken did art for Jerry Boy (far right pic), AKA SmartBall in the US? I didn't know that. I played that game once. Was pretty good. Though chances of seeing it released over here is unlikely. I am curious as to what all type of artwork of his it's going to have in the book for everything he's done over the years. Mostly all Pokemon, or other games he's drawn for. It be interesting. :)

Also, congrats on ppl who did all 151 Pokemon in Google Maps. Not that there are any in here.

I have no idea what this supposed to be. Is this trailer part of the next movie, or is this for a special episode or something?

Anyone here watch Twitch Plays Pokemon? Though while quite boring most of the time, some of the stories, fan work, & pokemon they catch/release unexpectedly is either quite unique, or ridiculous.

They finished Gen I some time ago. They just finished Gen II a few days ago. They are going to start on Gen III with Emerald in a few days. Until then, they are just playing random games.
So there's nothing to see, nothing to report right now. At least not until they get started on Gen III. Though I think a lot of the hype had died down when they were around half way done with Gen II.

Emulation / Re: Best Genesis Emulator?
« on: March 06, 2014, 06:55:25 PM »
Yea I have a problem with this for NES games as well. Though at least it was easier to load the colors you wanted on NES games than any other game system emulator.

There is a color adjust on Gens, although its only limited to Brightness and Contrast, with a grayscale & inverted option. I don't know what the Color Scale drop down menus do.
- Raw is the screen shot I showed.
- Full makes it even more brighter.
- Full with S/H: I don't see any difference from Raw.

I tried fiddling around with the brightness and contrast settings in Gens. I just can't seem to match Megasis exact color scale. :(

Okay look. I have loaded Wily Wars on 4 different emulators, and compare all 4 of them:
For some reason this forum resizes the screen shots. But if you view the images properly, the original colors of each emulator are present in each image.

Megasis:

Correct ratio, Correct palette. BG Error

Fusion:

Ugly Ratio, color is brighter than Megasis.

Gens:

Correct ratio, still noticeably brighter than Megasis.

Regen:

Incorrect ratio. Color is slightly different than Gens & Fusion. Still brighter than Megasis.

What was good about the PW system in the NES games was that I could enter a PW even on a new game, and start on a Wily stage.

But for games with a save system like Wily Wars for Genesis, I either have to find a save that has all 3 MM games starting at Wily stage for their respective game. Or I just have to play the game until I got there for all 3 games.

Also, If memory serves, there was an IPS patch that fixed some MegaMan Wily Wars games to save correctly, though may be for EUR version or something.

As for the color problem, as I said earlier, the colors are usually brighter or incorrect on most updated emulators. I like Megasis because it displays the correct colors, except that it has weird BG glitches on some games. Though if I can find a way for some other genesis emulators to display the correct palette, I might use them instead.

Emulation / Best Genesis Emulator?
« on: March 05, 2014, 06:33:40 PM »
I was messing around with Mega Man Wily Wars on different emulators. The one with the most accurate color palette on games seems to be Megasis. Unfortunately that emulator hasn't been updated in years. The problem with this emulator is in some areas in MegaMan Wily Wars, the stages have glitch like backgrounds.

Other more updated genesis emulators have these errors corrected. Unfortunately, the colors are incorrect. They are either brighter, or darker than Megasis, though mostly brighter. I'm trying to find one that displays the genesis games in correct palette colors like Megasis, but is more updated than Megasis.

I have tried Kega Fusion, Gens, Regens, Ages. A lot of them similar, though don't have a correct palette. Not to mention none of the genesis emulators have a palette editor for this kind of stuff.
Also, I haven't touched genecyst in years, since that one was a DOS emulator of their time. I doubt it could run on DosBox though.

But yea. Megasis is the only gens emulator that I can find that seems to have the correct color ratio. Just that it has some random background glitches, especially on some stages on MegaMan Wily Wars.

Also, I don't have any recent save states of MegaMan Wily Wars where all 3 Mega Man tiles start at Wily stages. All the ones I had were from some DOS genesis emulators.

Interesting enough, smaller pokemon can either do side eye view, or from the top or bottom eye view when you enter Poke Amie. But some pokemon too big for the screen, like Xerneas, or Mewtwo do from the top or bottom only.

Still kinda creepy though. XD

Nintendo Direct tomorrow regarding upcoming 3DS and Wii U games.

Its at 2PM eastern time (11AM Pacific.)

You've got those Time Zones wrong.

Nintendo's FB account says 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET. So you were right about it being 2 PM. Except that 2PM is for Pacific time. NOT eastern time.
