Right around the 3 minute mark.

Wasn't able to fire my buster at all. I'm guessing it's because the game reads life energy as weapon energy for the buster and with it depleted... Thankfully I was able to still use the other weapons lol

Gaming / Mirby Streams on Twitch (and so does her fiancé)
« on: April 16, 2016, 03:50:50 AM »
I figured that OBJECTION MAN had a thread for his streams so it would probably maybe be okay if I copied that idea here.

Schedule is as follows:
-Friday: Maddrequiem streams Pokémon Crystal Randomizer
-Saturday: Maddrequiem streams Mega Man Battle Network 6
-Sunday/Monday: I stream Final Fantasy Mystic Quest

All streams start at 6PM Pacific or so and are found at twitch.tv/mirby

Anyways my fiancé streams on my channel on nights when I don't stream. He's live right now with some Pokémon Crystal Randomizer using an overlay I set up. Which is funny because I've worked harder on beautifying his streams than my own haha

Once I beat Mystic Quest (which I'm only doing as a break after beating FF6) I'm starting on Final Fantasy 8 lol

Starring Taichi, now 17, in high-school. So 3 years after the end of 02 (and Revenge of Diaboromon), while obviously before the epilogue.

I mean it's not called Adventure 03 yet but it totally is.

Gaming / Former Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi Passes Away at 85
« on: September 19, 2013, 12:14:25 PM »
Just as the topic states, Hiroshi Yamauchi has passed away. This guy was responsible for helping transform Nintendo from playing card manufacturer to video game giant over his 53-year term with the company. He stepped down as President in 2002 (he was succeeded by Satoru Iwata) and became chairman of the board of directors. Three years later, he stepped down from that position, partly because of age and partly because he felt the company was in good hands. He also refused his retirement pension (estimated at between $9-14 million) and let Nintendo have it, feeling that they'd do more with it.

So yeah, thoughts?

Gaming / Tales of Symphonia Chronicles (PS3) - Coming 2014?
« on: June 01, 2013, 12:47:17 PM »
Recently in Japan, Namco held it's usual Tales of Festival. And, much like last year's event, there was a rather surprising announcement. Last year revealed Tales of Xillia 2.

This year? Tales of Symphonia: Unisonant Pack, an HD collection of the original Tales of Symphonia along with the Wii sequel, Dawn of the New World (or Knight of Ratatosk, if you prefer that subtitle).

But Mirby, you say. The thread name said "Tales of Symphonia Chronicles" not "Unisonant Pack" or whatever that is, you point out.

Simple explanation there. They're already planning on localizing it, with a working title of Tales of Symphonia Chronicles. Shortly after the announcement at the festival, Namco Bandai's European YT channel posted a video which shows series producer Hideo Baba saying how much he wants this to be localized, and says to expect it early next year if it is to be released outside of Japan. The game will release in Japan on October 10 for 6,980 yen.

NINTENDO CO., LTD. ANNOUNCES PROMOTION OF NOA CHAIRMAN TATSUMI KIMISHIMA TO NCL MANAGING DIRECTOR

Led Nintendo of America Since 2002

REDMOND, Wash., April 24, 2013 – Nintendo Co., Ltd. (NCL) today announced a planned promotion for Tatsumi Kimishima, current chairman and CEO of Nintendo of America (NOA) and a director of its parent Nintendo Co., Ltd. Subject to shareholder approval, he will become NCL managing director, and transfer from NOA in Redmond, Wash., to NCL headquarters in Kyoto, Japan. In his new position, he will assume the roles of general manager of Corporate Analysis and Administration, and general manager of the General Affairs Division. These titles are currently held by Yoshihiro Mori and Masaharu Matsumoto respectively, both of whom are retiring. Kimishima will assume his new duties in Kyoto later this summer.

Kimishima was named to his current position at NOA in 2006. He first joined Nintendo in Japan in 2000, and was subsequently named president of Pokémon USA in 2001, before moving on to become president of the Nintendo of America subsidiary in 2002. Previously, he spent 27 years at Sanwa Bank of Japan, with multiple postings in North America and Central America.

Many of his current responsibilities, including the CEO title, will be assumed by Global President Satoru Iwata. The move will support the company’s unified global strategy, allow streamlined decision making and enhance Nintendo's organizational agility in the current competitive environment. Reggie Fils-Aime will continue in his role as president and COO of NOA, reporting to Iwata.

Other changes announced to Nintendo’s global board of directors can be found at http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/.

Gaming / Games you DIDN'T expect to like...
« on: January 30, 2013, 08:44:11 AM »
So thought this would be an interesting topic to explore. Are there any games you played with zero expectations and went on to love them?

Here's one of mine.

Dragon Quest VIII

I had the original 4 DQ games for NES (or rather, Dragon Warrior) and didn't like them. Sold them, actually, just because I found no joy in them. Then one day I was at my uncle's house and he suggested I check it out.

I fell in love instantly (mostly because of Yangus and his Cockney accent), and from there went on to play the other DQ games. And realized I love them just as much.

Funny how time can change one's tastes.

Gaming / Digimon Adventure (PSP)

Yeah, they're remaking the first season of Digimon (plus Our War Game, the one with Omnimon/Omegamon)over as a full-on RPG. There's also a post-game original storyline featuring the mains of the other seasons (Davis/Daisuke, Takato, Takuya, Marcus/Masaru, Taiki, and Tagiru). It's due out in Japan on January 17, 2013.

Here's some videos of it.

I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but WolfPack Productions finally finished their subbing of Rockman.EXE Axess. They've also got the first episode of Stream up.

Just thought I'd give a heads up, even if it's been done for a little over two weeks.

Gaming / ABOBO'S BIG ADVENTURE
« on: January 11, 2012, 10:01:21 PM »
ALL CAPS BECAUSE ABOBO LIKES TALKING IN ALL CAPS AND WANTS YOU TO PLAY HIS GAME.

*ahem*

Yeah... Abobo's Big Adventure is officially out, and it a fantastic tribute to the NES era. Great music, great gameplay, hilarious story (even if it is a little bloody), achievements, unlockables... It's got everything.

I highly recommend it. Also it's free and flash. However, the side game Aboboy's Big Adventure requires a donation of at least $1.00.

Fan Creations / Mega Man 9 - Back in Blue
« on: September 07, 2011, 11:23:32 PM »
So, I thought I'd post this here because A. It's Mega Man related, B. It's fan created, and C. It's awesome.

Over at OverClocked ReMix today, they released Mega Man 9 - Back in Blue, a remix album comprised of 18 tracks arranging just about everything on the soundtrack.

It's a pretty solid release, and if you've been craving some Mega Man 9 love (in regards to the soundtrack, at least) or just some Mega Man love in general, here this is.

You can find the album here.

Enjoy!

Also, I've only listened to Sixto's rendition of Flash in the Dark so far (want to save most of it for when I review it), but it seems like a natural evolution of the version on the AST.

Post your thoughts and impressions and such here! ^.^

Gaming / I did it once and I'll never do it again!
« on: September 06, 2011, 09:18:09 AM »
So I got this idea from another forum I'm on... I'll quote the OP from that topic; it describes it better than I ever could.
Quote from: Jax Mandrake
I just want to share, and I also want to know if you've got moments like this.

You probably are familiar with the feeling: you've been playing the same game for a few days in a row, and there's this one thing you've been trying to do. Each time you fail, you get that little bit more frustrated, and at the same time you get that little bit more determined to conquer the frustration. At last, you complete your goal, and you say to yourself, "I did it! And damn me if I ever even try that again!"
Mine would be some of the esper fights in FF12, particularly Ultima. I still haven't fought Zodiark, Hell Wyrm, or Yiazmat (or some of the other elite marks) but Ultima was friggin' tricky. Once I beat her, I let out a massive sigh of relief. ^.^

Anyone else?

X / Grand Maverick ReMix Battle
« on: November 01, 2010, 06:39:30 PM »
The Grand Maverick ReMix Battle is going on now over at OCR. Much like the Grand Robot Master ReMix Battle that happened earlier this year, it's a duel of stage themes. I think all will be represented eventually... But for now, the lineup is nice.

Here is the thread, with links at the end of the first post for the various rounds! Enjoy!

EXE / ClockMan Scenario in Operate Shooting Star
« on: May 30, 2010, 11:30:59 AM »
Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to check out OSS. I like it; I just got past the ClockMan Scenario. Now what I'm wondering is if anyone has a translated transcript of that whole scenario or something. I may not be able to read it, but I do want to know what transpired in dialogue and stuff.

The extra prologue translated would be cool too. I really hope someone has these.
