Intro/final stage would be great!

I'll be watching this thread, in an incredibly vain attempt to partially fill the massive void that is MMHX2.

Noted lol. And another request for the final stage? I guess we may know what's to come soon, and speaking of the intro stage lol that should have been first I think. Oh well XD.

Here's Bubble Crabs tune again. Went a bit softer and more watery this time. Kept the speed the same though but did a lot more mixing around.

I guess once we complete all of these I'll rar them up into one big OST.

77
This is good, but I think the first one is better. Just a suggestion, but I would try to make it more...how can I put it, bubbly & aquatic. When MHX did Launcher Octopus, it added a bit of bubbly techno to it and I thought it really stood out well. It might be harder with this track simply because it's not as fast paced.'

Either way, I hope you keep em coming.

Wow you had on mind just what I did. I'm currently fixing it up as well cause the pitches were to high in areas. Thankfully it's only a work in progress so. ^^ thanks for the mini review there and yep there's a lot more to come! Though speaking of it being fast paced...Hmm I possibly could go a more slower paced a bit kind of how they messed around with Launch Octopus's stage in areas.

78
Guess that's the plan then is we'll start an OST XD. I think I get what you were saying. I was just thinking about that oddly, there is music that sounds like it should be in games and music that sounds like it should be in movies. Also yeah it really is a simple program to get the hang of. Nothing overly complicated like Cubase or something. ^^ Again great, I'd love to mess around with some of your stuff at sometime and see what you got moving with things.

Oh on a side note, here's Bubble Crab (Deep Sea)

Erm...Fixing some pitch issues, vid uploaded but had to head out. Guess this could be the early version.

EARLY VERSION: (so you guys get to see work in progress yayz)

Doesn't really distract much from it's original version, and I was thinking of putting in an intro of types, but it didn't sound right to me. So we got a beef'd up version of the original with different adjustments here and there. Best part though I can imagine starting the stage and the rush of the song at the start would suit a READY sign I think. Just perfect.

As for the art I guess I'll just stick with this picture for the music, cause I looked around couldn't find any MHX2 Maverick pics. Though I'll keep looking.

79
Yeah about what a DAW is, I had no idea until my friends kept mentioing it. I guess it's just the music program you use. And yep easier the better!^^ And wow since 4 huh? lol yeah you might be a little more versed with things in areas, I'll keep that in mind. And wow, it's kind of like me with the MIDIs I use FL Studio and transfer the MIDI from there to Mixcraft. I did the same with some music I made with Reason 5 back then...Oh man those old days. I feel you on the counter hunter area 1. lol funny how we think we're just the *censor* back then. Then we notice..Oh wow that's just crap XD

And wait a Manga Centipede remaster!? Ha ha! I think we might be able to start a crazy fan Mega Man Maverick Hunter X2 OST. (Working on Bubble Crab at this moment)

I will keep you guys posted!

That's pretty awesome! I'd love to hear more down the line.

Counter/X Hunter Stage 1 in particular.
Yo glad you liked it! I'll put that down on the list.

Quote
I'd love to hear a Magna Centipede & Crystal Snail mix as well.
At this rate I might as well remaster the game XD consider them coming in the future!

Well I have a thread here titled Invasion Beta 2.0 if you want to listen to some of the recordings I have done. Lots of synth involved myself. usually due to laziness hahah. I also have a bass i can use as well. I am actually more proficient with that than i am at the guitar.
Hey that's pretty cool, being good with that bass is a +.  I'll give your topic a looking in a bit here, and same, synth is awesome if you just want a sound and put something together fast.

Quote
Despite having ten less years of experience. =P I just dislike the synth-tar because i always know it is fake but sometimes it has moments when it fits better than a real guitar. Specifically when trying to make it sound like an old school videogame! BTW what program did you use to make this? I use Mixcraft 6.

You hit the nail on the head about making it sound retro! That's one reason I kind of like using the synth guitar at times. Also I used Mixcraft 6 to make this. =D just started with the DAW not long ago and it's results are amazing!

Quote
synth guitar is fine. it fits with MHX's synthy feel to it's music.

I look forward to more!
Thx glad you enjoyed it^^ and guess this guitar will just get interesting as things go with the music! I do agree though the synth does work really well with MHX type tunes.

81
Hey guys glad you liked it! And Cherry yeah, it's your phone speakers, heh I find it hard myself to enjoy a song good on those unless, it's really mapped for phones I think. Also I can't help but use the synth guitar at the moment, but I have a lot of others I could pull to.  I've only played the bass and I don't really carry one. And by tracks live guitar tracks? That sounds epic! Yeah I'll let you know if I need any! Real guitars really out do the fake ones in areas! Might add you to the sound score list here now.

Hey guys been like a bit. I was bored and decided to reform some Mega Man X tunes in the style of Maverick Hunter X. I started with MMX2's boss theme and I honestly think it sounds like it'd be in the legit game if it were created. I'm now gonna mess around with some other tunes and maybe make a complete sound score, though this is between project work and such. But thought I'd share this with you guys and get your takes.

Heh there's even a lot of awesome Maverick Hunter X2 art floating around. Kudos to the artist.

Hey thanks XD yeah I love their designs as well! I should really hop on some other tunes for the other entries I liked. Might even add them to some game I make down the road. For peaks sake man. Where did the talent go for the contest picks? >< I mean wow...Sorry I'm ranting on about that contest but you got two GREAT bosses here! Well onto other themes heh.

EDIT:
Couldn't help it. New tune. Book Man's stage. Sounds as if it'd be some kind of school,Library and some others were like a flying stage of some kind.

Here's a link to download and play, a flash version of things should hit the scene soon, so you guys without windows will be able to jump into things as well.

Hey thanks there^^ yeah heh much more to come with things. Surprised I got the systems in those games working that well.
Also for something Mega Man,Mega Man like I guess. A mix of Bubble Crab I made. May hit over it again in the future. Other than that, maybe I'll put out a demo or more beta of my Elementar Rising 5 system and such for you guys to try your hands at sometime.

Meh updates heh. Here's a boss tune I made up for a MMZ type game or something or sounds like it'd fit in one. Also noticed my earlier vids are lagging like hell. =_= I blame my recorder but anyways yeah more tunes, gotta get some new art up sometime.

Here's a beta of things you guys can try. It goes up till a story but doesn't go much farther than that, and you'll have to reset it.
What I'm looking for is, how fast it plays, how well it controls and any other things you guys think I can add or something.

Download: (I'll update the first post with this.) -
DISCLAIMER:
(Also tried to encrypt things, but the files in the game are able to be looked at, this means, music, voices and some sound effects. These will be encrypted down the road as I'm trying to find a good program for it. But for now keep that in mind. If you do want to use any music you hear or something let me know. All music and some sound effects are (c) jad4321)

Download Beta: (Oh and foe ghost things shall be fixed in the future. Stage you play is also well beta so expect the big pit of water to be gone in full version)
DOWNLOAD: (To run the game open with winrar and run Elementar Rising 5 exe) - (note) - (Will not run on Macs but this feature will be in things sometime soon.)

ELEMENTAR RISING 5 BETA DEMO

vid of the beta stage may run faster or slower for you, just let me know.

Default Controls
Arrow keys move you, left and right. (Can also use joypad, just map the buttons to it. See below)

Enter - Press start and loading the game. Use this to pause the game as well.
Z -jump
X - Shoot (Hold X to charge your shot to shoot off bullets everywhere)
C - Special attack
S - hold while walking to speed up (run)

Swap main weapon.
1 switches to sword
2 switches back to normal shots.

How to map your own controls:
To map your own game controller or buttons when you run the game. Click file and go to players.
Once in players find Keyboard and go to the "X" under 1. Map your controls from there.
For joypads, use the same example but instead go to joypad located near the top under joypad 1.

Other notes:
There are no sound settings. Though you can mute the sound effects. Music is played on a different channel. I could include something to mute music and all sounds but without the time it's a tad much at the moment. It has been on mind though in case anyone plays and wonders about it.

Any other questions just let me know.

Wow went so dead here. Heh anyways despite the recent boss contest for Xover. I honestly hung my head in shame. So I decided to give some of the epic entries I saw music or stage music. I started with Angel and Devil Woman.

Used a Mega Man 8 soundfont and Touhou font for this. But I thought overall it fit.
Kind of sounds as if the location would be some kind of legendary sky castle.

Might hit at some other entries soon, cause..I'm sorry. Arcade Man wasn't doing it for me at all.
I mean the game is still bad, but some of those designs for things were just great.

This could be an intro for a Roll-Chan X anime. But that's just crazy talk.  o-O

Crazy talk, I say.  8B

You know that's exactly what that'll be.  >0< still loving that tune! Would be great in a Roll-Chan anime. All we'd need now is a sakura blossom splash before the animation starts and such. Just like right on Que.

MMX Intro SAGA-6 For sure. Ironic it'd be the same as the games intro..But it's so freaking in nature of the events happening then. Yeah could work with 5 as well.

Fan Games / Re: Cross Finale a big cross over game thing.
« on: November 09, 2012, 04:13:14 AM »
Quote
Well, if you're gonna do call it "Cross Finale", you should go all out just for the fun of it. Do a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen thing with every continuity merged together and having happened in some way or another. They don't ALL have to appear, Alice in Wonderland was only mentioned because it explains Alice came back out the Looling-Glass reversed and ended up starving to death because she couldn't eat regular foods, so just pepper the game with cameos and such if you don't want to try writing things into the story.

Yeah I'm just gonna have a blast it's got a story which is pretty strong which I failed to get in the first post heh, will fix that.  But yeah I'll only include what I want, just thought I'd get a bit of thoughts though on any possible areas and characters I could or should include. But if anything so far it's all about looking for these things called demon eyes, a reality warrior "world jumper, dream jumper" who gets caught in the middle and a basically warped reality which is tossing all these things together.

A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen type thing would be cool, but I think I'll just work with what I've got going. You made a good point though including everything would be to much especially if it's all about keeping the focus on a select few. Heh no Kingdom Hearts here. Love the series but the story my gosh has that story gone who knows lol Also the Cross Finale has a bigger factor than the term "Cross Over" It's standing for something far greater which will be included deeper in the game and such.

Far as I knew it's not done to often and I thought it'd be a cool twist of things at some point.

Anyways thanks for your feedback and such heh guess I'll keep jumping around but I'll limit the input of things. Yeah just having a blast, that's how it started anyways lol just one big mash up that dev'd into something.  :)

Edit:
Erm termed that wrong. I'll include things but I'll limit what I put in so it won't over run lol I'll keep you guys updated. But if at anytime you guys have any thoughts of things I could add just let me know.  I'll keep you guys updated. And sorry if I misunderstood anything hasty at the moment so feel free to correct lol

Update: Heh I will just update you guys on new things that fall into this over time and such. So far it's turning out to being a pretty awesome cross over game. Who knows who or what else may fall into things lol just has to add up to how it all flows. ^^ thanks again all. I'll keep you in the loop. Below though if you want to contribute to the project in anyway just post some ideas and what not below. So many other projects I got going at this time too  >0< I'ma crazy. Anyways lol catch you guys around here and there.

(Original post)
Not sure if this is the right area for such a game? Though then if not yeah just let me know lol

Hey guys ok so I am pretty back and forth here. But on the down low I've been working on a huuuuge cross over type game that will span different game companies. And was wondering if you guys might of had any ideas of what other companies I could toss into this. More over games. Yeah you'll see Tron Bonne here AGAIN lol but I also do plan to place in Mega Man X,Trigger,Sigma and some others here and there. Also confirmed in areas is Marina Liteyears from mischief makers a game from Treasure, maybe some final fantasy guys? lol I really dunno this project is just going it's own way. Yeah people I know and such can also fall in, yep that means you guys too lol

Anyways though here are some vids showing some parts of things. Notice however the artwork aside the ones made for main Gabe Kuo and Mike aren't really well mine? I cropped from images lol I'd make the other art for characters but yeah just lazy at the moment. More work goes into what you'll see happening lol but original artwork IS a possibility.

Story:
A Reality Warrior, by the name of Gabe Kuo (a being who can travel minds, and many different worlds by breaching into their territories.) Has been sent to a distant land to uncover the source of some problems that were swung his way. Once he lands in this odd world, he's matched with the old for told tale of him working with others to find the mysterious Demon Eyes said to keep balance together before they fall into the hands of chaos.

While Gabe is skeptical on the entire issue, events and such will turn his head. He finds himself working with a lot of other familure characters as he makes his way on forward to find the Demon eyes and set the world around him right again.
Oh game is also made in RMXP.
Cross Finale vids: (Music heard has been remixed by me or found around the net)

(OLD Vid) - But displays some story stuff.

This is the number one reason fan games collapse before going anywhere. Typically, the people who are truly dedicated to the game's vision end up learning to program themselves, because the realization will set in sooner or later that it is highly unlikely anyone will come to your aid and be your code slave to craft your game for you.

In the world of game development, everyone has ideas and designs, therefor ideas are cheap. What counts are demos. Without a demo, you're just stuck with another cheap idea among countless others.

The base universal truth in this situation is that; Talent will attract talent. You just need to display that you have it.

The silver lining here is that Multimedia Fusion is incredibly simple to work with. It is all event based programming, and not any real code. You should be able to pick up the basics quickly, and experiment with it enough to get a decent understanding of how to build a simple game in it. The flip side is, Multimedia Fusion isn't the cure all. In fact MMF is very limited in what it can do, less now than before, but still limited. You will come to find very quickly that a Megaman game isn't as simplistic as you may think it is.

My ultimate advice would be to make a few original games or extremely simple clone games (like Pac-Man), to get the hang of game development. Then come back after those and try to apply what you've learned to tackle this more complex design.

I agree completly here. Just having something to show before starting it from scratch or having at least some level of skill with what you're going for is key to a succesful game. He's already pointed out some good tips of getting started with things, you should save this idea, I wouldn't just toss it away because you've gotten so many designs in and such. But you should focus on making something simple at first.

Then transferring to something greater. My Elementar Rising series as an example, yeah RPG Maker, but there are tons of things like Ruby scripting, eventing and what not that went into it. Before even getting that online I had to sit down and just go over things, make sure I knew what I was doing and was able to add or adjust things to make them different and more original.

MMF2 is very simple, but things such as gimmicks and physics can become issues if you really don't have all the knowledge and such needed. So yeah I could really help with the programmings though, but I'm a tad busy with my own projects as it is so I may not be able to.  But you should really jump into getting to know things yourself and perhaps just make some small test games or something. It's all about trial and error in the end.

No,no what he means is. They're both the same sprite. Nothing really different but speed. Are you asking about how fast the shots go or something? Because as N-Mario said there, there's really any difference between them but speed. And you can alter it during the scripting and such for the foe. Other than that, the sprite works are looking cool guys.

More young and silver looking. Almost looks like Gate from MMX in areas or a smaller Gate.

Disco man looks almost like number man from MMBN there some. And the sprites look pretty nice so far guys.

@Jadzxa Yeah, just learn from the pros and you'll eventually create a Rockman-style Music.
Will do those sniper joes came out looking pretty good there.^^

Speaking of such found a GB soundfont. Here's a test with it. An updated version of Gothicas tune a bit. Think I'll remake it, more megaman tunes are faster and much more bouncy and such. Though this comes off feeling as if it's from mm8 or 7 I guess.

Gothica stage update:

I'll also start some on Concertos looks soon. From that picture. I have a mixture of Gate and Zero in head..This could turn out interesting.

Quote
Just made a stage enemy for Gothica's stage. It's a small ghost that will appear and slowly chase after Mega Man through the air until destroyed or when Mega Man goes to another room.
Heh a ghost like foe looks pretty cool. Nice job.

Quote
I've got a curious question to ask about that idea. Do teddy bears fit with the gothic theme?
Ha ha ha. Hmm that is a good question. I suppose if it's more stitched up and such, carries red eyes and perhaps is black or gray and carries just a very grim touch up with it. Unless the style is going more for an innocent darkness. Hint, the little girl who looks normal but carries a knife in one hand and has a teddy bear in her other arm holding it tightly, perhaps an eye hanging out of the bears head too.

Sprites look pretty good. Also dropping in cause I have a bit of time. I'll try the revamp around Zeros design a bit there Mag. And I know it's early for music and such but tunes pop up. I was going off that "intro" tune from Rozen Maiden you had placed up a bit, but Gothicas tune came out sounding like well. Here, maybe you guys can figure where to use it. I don't think it much fits her but a tune you guys can use somewhere.  Has a bit of Burstman from MM7 in it too. (Also to note, the instruments are more NES. I'll have to find a GB soundfont around or make one. Though tried to get it close at least.)

(un named mm killer tune/but labled Gothica new tune)

Sorry I've been inactive guys. Not a lot of design stuff on my side. Just saying I'm dropping out, I have to many projects as it is. But if I get my music stuff together and get more free.  I may swing back in and perhaps help in that area of things. Keep up the good work otherwise guys, loving the devs with the robots and such. Catch you guys later, and I guess this is better than dropping off the face of the Earth. lol I'll be a snooper if anything else.

Well here's my take at Concerto man.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

More of a Musical Maestro in looks or something. When you said concert I figured a very orchestrated choir director or something. Though we can still work over him. I suppose though he's kind of a mix of magic man in areas with the hat deal going and the darkness and eye in the back peeking out kind of.

Also the other designs for Trance,Rave and Mariachi are really nice guys! Looking forward to seeing the final drafts and such.^^
