Original / Re: Rock-Research - From R1 to R&F **WARNING: Long Read**

Nice job, enjoyed the notes.

I'm not sure if you noticed during your playthroughs, but one of the things I hated about some of the boss fights where they only gave you just enough weapon energy to kill the boss if you didn't miss. And if you die, you're stuck using another weapon to try, which will usually never work.  Bright man is annoying to kill if you're not perfect.

What method are you using to apply the patch to the ROM?

Rockman Series / Re: The story of Rockman Online
« on: September 10, 2012, 06:27:01 PM »
You'd think they might've tried to keep Online alive since the mostly negative reactions to Xover, but I guess it couldn't be helped, and this is probably the reason Xover was created.

Lunar IPS is the easiest tool for applying patches: http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/240/

By not working, do you mean the game won't start or will the changes not take effect?

If it's the former, patches sometimes will not work if your ROM is headered or not. I recommend this program to either Add/Remove Headers: http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/400/

Pretty much have to echo what James says in this episode, more particularly around 3:36:

EDIT: Darn you James for disabling embedding! Bad James! BAD!

Rockman Series / Re: Possible changes for the franchise?

Yea, something GOOD needs to happen soon. Probably won't happen though with Inafune gone and the way Capcom is now.

Glad to know everyone still judges a book by it's cover.

Though I agree, I do not like the fact they are making this for the iOS at all.

It may be that the serscan.sys file was included in a Service Pack upgrade.

I like the drawings and sprite work.

X / Re: Shadow is an incarnation of Double?
« on: May 31, 2012, 05:13:46 AM »
They're both derived from the same static "betrayed by a maverick" theme that's happened time and time again. They were both double agents, though they both have different reasons for their betrayal. Double seemed to be partly insane and Shadow took a savagely ambitious attitude for power.

Perhaps not like a normal person, but like a usual light bug would by crawling. I honestly think his lighted behind is too big for his short legs to reach the ground. He would probably have to have a hole in a tall chair to sit down properly.

X / Re: X's characterization
« on: May 24, 2012, 05:43:46 PM »
X (and Zero) also has a fear of uncertainty that has been expressed several times. After fighting Mavericks for so long, they ask each other if they too will go maverick one day. It would seem that they don't know how Reploids become Mavericks.

X / Re: Mega Man X3 is a bad game?
« on: May 12, 2012, 06:29:42 PM »
X3 has always been a good game to me. The only gripe I have about it is the boss AI is a bit too simplistic for an X series game. They only have one or two attack patterns, and that's for all of the bosses.

I can't comment on the special weapons, really. I'm the guy who saves them until a boss fight.

Doppler stages are nothing like the Gate Labs.

DASH / Re: DASH Album may lead to the release of the Prototype?

Great way to get some extra sales!
Agreed. Probably just saying that so it will sell. I doubt that will happen unless an internal Capcom employee confirms it.

I would think people would've bought it even if she didn't mention such a claim.

We'll see.

Gaming / Re: A sequel is a coming to 3DS. Momma Mia
« on: April 22, 2012, 11:18:36 PM »
Because really, two toads? I thought it would've been like Super Mario 64 DS with more character choices (I.E. Wario, Playable Yoshi, and of course good 'ol Red n' Green) than a pair of color-coded toads.

You could argue that they were trying to go with the style of the classic Nintendo series.

On the other hand, one was fine, having two was unnecessary. I'm sure they can pick someone else to be a fourth character this time around.

I want Wart as a secret world boss.

characters screwing up your gameplay by allowing you to bump into them all the time.

Agreeably, It would've been nice to allow us to move behind/around other players instead of accidentally knocking them off a small platform. It's also annoying when you're trying to jump over to the next platform and you both happen to jump over at the same time and your jump fails because you knocked into each other.

I would like to see more playable characters this time.

Nice job at interviewing him. I am wondering about a certain part of the interview:

Quote
OKD: I understand. When Rockman DASH was being made, what sort of vision did the development team had for Rockman in 3D polygon graphics?

Tomozawa: Well, I’m not graphic designer so I don’t know about graphics.

OKD: Not really what I meant, but no matter.

What sort of response were you aiming for when you asked this?

Also, the unused piece of music for Megaman 7 reminds me of a credits roll theme.

Original / Re: The MM3 RMs: Light/Wily made?
« on: March 26, 2012, 07:06:27 PM »
The story of Megaman 3 starts that Wily claims that he's turned over a new leaf and him and Light begin working on Gamma.[http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Mega_Man_3] I'm guessing that they also built the 8 robot masters together as well.

Gaming / Re: Nintendo Hard Games
« on: March 16, 2012, 05:47:45 PM »
World 9 is infuriating at first. It's a pain to beat it without any extra lives. On the whole, SMB isn't hard, but there are some aggravating parts. Maybe the second quest is harder? I've never played it.

But there are definitely harder games than Mario. Ninja Gaiden and it's constantly respawning enemies, for example.

If you did manage to uninstall the wrong thing, it could possibly show up as another error when you go into a normal boot.

You wouldn't happen to have the OS installation disc, would you?
