My proposal for a gritty Sesame Street reboot: Bertman V Super-Grover.
Just a thought about at what point the Supergirl crossover takes place in the Flash timeline. That device Barry was wearing in the crossover, I knew it looked familiar because it looked like the device Thawne used to boost his speed in the first season. It makes sense after last night's episode. So would that mean Barry's trip to Supergirl's Earth may have happened when they tried to test it?

It would be funny to see Cisco's reaction to Barry's trip, and make references to an alien blonde. 8)
Also, perhaps it is irony considering the prominent roles the Barry Allen Flash and Supergirl played in the original Crisis on Infinite Earths. Hopefully they will not be martyrs.

Think Supergirl will show up in the Arrowverse next season?

The movie gets a lot of unneeded vitriol, in my opinion.
What did you guys think of the Flash's appearance after the "Knightmare?"
Ugh. Just... ugh. I mean, Olvier and Diggle buried the hatchet this season but this seems to just be drama for the sake of cheap drama.
Marc Guggenheim posted a photo of Oliver and Felicity's wedding, so maybe she just needs some time to process it.

Oh, and Zoom is... Jay Garrick? Well, the producers have said it's actually Hunter Zolomon but that opens the question, how did Hunter get from Earth-1 to Earth-2, or is he from another parallel Earth?
I wanted to like it, but it leaned a little heavy on the Silver Age nostalgia with an Adventure-era roster, but edgier. Though some on my animosity for that incarnation because it jettisoned some of my favourite postboot Legionnaires like XS (as I am a huge fan of the Flash family), Andromeda, and Gates.

34
You need to be a bit more specific considering the Legion rather--gnarled history. I mean there is the Preboot Legion, "Five Years Later" Legion, SW6 "Legionnaires", Postboot Legion (which Waid was involved in), Threeboot (the version Waid is best known for), and Retroboot.

Quality generally varies. My favourite run is the Abnett/Lanning "DnA" Legion with parts of the early reboot Legion, the SW6 Legion, and most of the Levitz preboot run including Great Darkness. My view on Waid's Threeboot is a tepid one; I just did not find it that interesting compared to the previous run.

35
Looks like DC will be giving the entire DCU the "Rebirth" treatment, with Action and Detective Comics returning to their original numbering. I honestly do not know what to make of this, it will not be a reboot ala New 52, but more akin to Green Lantern: Rebirth. My personal wish is to have the REAL Kon-El/Conner Kent Superboy and Bart Allen back. No sign of a new Legion of Super-Heroes title, which ticks me off. The Legion gets no respect these days. Is their brand that damaged?

I didn't know that February 11 was Flash Appreciation Day. HAPPY FLASH APPRECIATION DAY!

(Going to work on completing my "Impulse" run.)

Makes me wonder if one of the portals leads to Earth-Prime Vancouver (since there is no Central City here and the show is filmed there.) 8D

Managed to get started on a (hopefully) short story today to see if I can jumpstart my creativity.

Ack. Closing shifts always leave me in a zombified state. Oh well. It helped brighten up what has been a particularly rotten month. So what do you think it will be, multiverse hijinks? It would make sense given that there has been absolutely no mention of Superman (or Batman for that matter) staples like Metropolis or Gotham in the CW-verse.

YES!  8)

Well, that's not happening since my Wii is cannot connect to my place's router and I'm not about to mucking with it because I don't want to inconvenience my housemates. At least the console works and that's something, I guess.

42
I believed that my Nintendo Wii had died a few months ago, but only now had the bright idea of going to Nintendo trouble shooting and doing an AC Adaptor reset. Looks like it works now. Am I that lazy? :P

Also, should I do a Wii U transfer?

I LOVE THE FLASH SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

Getting even more super-excited for Legends of Tomorrow.

I would find it funny if Flash somehow ended up on our world, except in Vancouver (where the Flarrowverse shows are filmed) and he gets mistaken for Grant Gustin. 8D

46
Not just the solid writing, but the fact that they're totally willing to go all out there with their comic bookiness. That's what I'm enjoying about Supergirl, at the moment. The dialog, while definitely hokey at times, has improved a bit, and I think it will improve over time.
I MEAN, GRODD IS ON TONIGHT! [tornado fang] YEAH!!!
It makes me wish that Supergirl could exist in the Flarrowverse, hunting and fighting aliens would fit right into the atmosphere. But there is the fact that Superman was an established hero in Supergirl when no superheroes existed in the Flarrowverse prior to Green Arrow.
Everything's better with psychic apes! Looks like Grodd's lonely, though.
And Cisco was unpopular at first? :o I liked him from the start and man, I just love Catlin. I wonder if her Earth-2 counterpart will be Killer Frost.

Haha, you'll watch Supergirl, which is just closet feminism propaganda, but not Daredevil??

Blame my lack of Netflix subscription, otherwise I would have watched it. As for Supergirl, I usually just watch when I'm on the treadmill Monday nights, which helps the time and calories go by faster. "Livewire" was one of the better episodes because there was some character depth added to Cat Grant as well the Danvers family and mystery regarding Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain) I give a damn about. I'm interested in seeing how the Red Tornado episode goes given my affection for the Satellite League.

Any thoughts of the inclusion of Firestorm in Flash? Firestorm was one of my favourite lower-tier DC heroes (though higher up than most because of his inclusion the League in its most iconic era.) One of the things that ticked me off about creators like Alex Ross was the utter lack of respect he has gotten. I mean they put in Metamorpho and Captain Marvel in the Satellite league but snub him completely. It is like excluding Zatanna or Red Tornado. The introduction of the character and the Firestorm Matrix in the show feels like vindication to me as a fan of Firestorm. Victor Garber kills it as Stein, both in appearance and mannerisms, and Robbie Amell was awesome as Ronnie Raymond. Though he's "dead," I still hold out hope that he got sucked through the singularity to Earth-2. With respect to Jay Jackson, I am kind of disappointed that Jason Rusch was not Firestorm... but the two are similar enough that it is not huge deal to me.

I do not remember it I have mentioned this before, but Robbie Amell was a guest at this year's Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, along with Stephen Amell and David Ramsey. It was awesome getting a photo op with him, and he remarked that he was not able to find a Firestorm t-shirt when he got look at mine. Then the following day, at his Spotlight Panel, guess who showed up in the last ten minutes? His cousin: Steve AKA Green Arrow. That was a good day.

Was it in a provocative position?  :O

Honestly, I gave up on comics. Way too expensive to keep collecting.
It is getting increasing harder to justify a $3.99 price point on 20 pages of content of increasingly predictable material. (In my case, the rather pitiful exchange on the Canadian dollar inflates it to around $5.40 before sales tax.) I mean, Marvel replaced Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, and Thor Odinson in their respective roles in the 80s, Thor again in 90s with Eric Masterson, Steve again with Bucky/Winter Soldier in the 2000s, and again in 2010s with Sam Wilson and Jane Foster. The entertainment media is not really helping and are more or less acting as a public relations appendage for the big two, the Outhousers notwithstanding. For the most part, they act like cheerleaders in trying to convince the public that it is completely groundbreaking when it is completely old hat.

That said, at least the superhero genre seems to be doing all right. Do you have any thoughts on the Flash/Arrowverse, PB? The second season of the Flash as completely reeled me in with the Zoom and Earth-2. I nearly exploded when they made a visual tribute to Flash (vol. 1) #123 in "Flash of Two Worlds." The crossover with Constantine in Arrow was pretty enjoyable too and though it's not part of that universe, Supergirl has gotten better in my view with last night's episode with Livewire.

As for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm trying to figure out how this show matters in the MCU. I mean, the films don't even acknowledge its existence, and the plot threads the involving the Inhumans feels forced because Fox has the rights to X-Men. I have not watched Daredevil, have no interest in Jessica Jones whatsoever, and probably should catch up on Agent Carter.

Jehovah's Witnesses came by again.

I would invite them to dinner... as the main course. I can tell my other guests that it is Soylent Green.

On the funnier fetish side of things, while watching WTFIWWY Live, Tara showed a balloon popping fetish video.  It was hilarious!  All it was was a guy popping balloons.  That's it.

Am I going insane or is Marvel Comics (not the movies) been declining in quality for the past few years?

I mean, they essentially relaunch their comics with #1s every year with variants for a temporary sales boost. Even when they keep the same creators on the title, which is especially egregious in the case of Amazing Spider-Man and Jane Foster. Then there is the glut of cross overs, I'm talking Avengers vs. X-Men, Original Sin, Axis, and Secret Wars. So many upheavals that I cannot bother get invested anymore. For pity's sake, part of the impetus behind Avengers vs. X-Men was to bring mutants back from the brink of extinction and barely three years passed, now they are back to the brink in Extraordinary X-Men.

*Slow clap* Really, congratulations Marvel. As petty and vindictive as it sounds, I want your comics line to crash and burn now that you are saturating the market with god knows how many Spider-Man, Avengers, and (god help me) Inhumans titles. I mean, I have my issues with DC after the "New 52" and the extremely lacklustre Convergence, but really you are taking it to a whole new level.

Seriously, the last Marvel titles I gave a [tornado fang] about were Scarlet Spider and New Warriors. The movies are still fine, for the most part. In a broader sense, the media I find the superhero genre enjoyable in are not in their native medium. CW's The Flash gets me excited every week while the comic book has me going, "Meh."

Sometimes I think the $5.66 (damn exchange rate) on one new comic would be better spent on two and a half second-hand comics I can buy at the Sunnyside Community Centre every month. Am I going nuts?
