Hey guys, remember when Fire Emblem 7 came out on the Wii U in august... in Europe?

Well, its been a few months since then, and Nintendo is finally getting around to releasing it to the US tomorrow.

Now for some Good Old Games-related news. GOG.com has kicked off its 2014 Winter Sale. Between now and December 15th, a lot of DRM-free goodness are on sale, with discounts up to 90% off, plus daily deals and flash sales and eggnog to go around. We also got two more exciting additions to GOG.com's catalog of games -- Crimzon Clover: WORLD IGNITION and Freedom Planet.

Hmm. Freedom Planet finally on sale somewhere?!

I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

It was on sale during the steam sale too.
Same price.

I'd buy on GOG but I sort of like having my games activate through steam.

Gah, it was? I checked my wishlist each day, and didn't see it, then.

Yeah, Freedom Planet is basically a sanic game if it had a kid with Rocket Knight Adventures from what I've heard/seen.

I want to get it but at the same time I want to wait for a really good deal (because if it went half off already it'll go lower)

My thoughts exactly when I saw the early Kickstarter trailers and played the older demos.

And good news for Vita owners: you can now play La-Mulana on the go.

-EDIT-
Yeah, Freedom Planet is basically a sanic game if it had a kid with Rocket Knight Adventures from what I've heard/seen.
If your kid end up as Liliac the dragon girl; Carol the wildcat and Milia the dog girl have thier own unique take on game (Liliac is about speed, Carol is more action-focused, and Milia, from what I've seen, has puzzle-solving elements).

My immediate thought at the time, was that its the Shovel Knight for Mega Drive games.

I might wait a little longer, though. I'll see how I feel about it during the Steam holiday sale.

Ahh, yes. I've been meaning to try out La-Mulana at some point after buying it on GOG.

...Probably still not gonna happen anytime soon, with all these other games occupying me.

Japan's getting Battle Network Rockman EXE 3 (and EXE3 Black) this week on the VC, alongside some PC Engine games (Which the US doesn't get because we suck) and Vampire Killer (Castlevania 1 on MSX)

This week on the Virtual Console:

Megaman Zero!... is what they said but apparently not because the ESRB didn't rerate it (Which is a dumb rule)! Expect it next week then.

Harvest Moon 3 on the 3DS VC.

Crash and the Boys Street Challenge on Wii U (I don't get this branding, but then again none of the Kunio-Kun games in the US had good titles except for RCR.)

Reminder that the Digital Deluxe promo ends on December 31st, which means if you want to get points and earn codes you'll need to buy stuff on or before December 30th because they take 24 hours to register on the site.

Harvest Moon 3 on the 3DS VC.

I'd be interested in this if RF4 didn't completely kill my passion for farming simulators forever.

I'm personally not aware of the appeal of wanting to play an older version of harvest moon.

Hell, Harvest Moon never really looked that interesting to begin with.

Well here's something that might be interesting.

Strife, one of the last first-person shooters to use id's Doom engine and earliest FPS/RPG hybrids has finally escaped abandonware status. Night Dive Studios, the same folks responsible for resurrecting System Shock 2 on GOG.com and Steam, has brought this overlooked gem back on Steam as Strife: Veteran Edition. What's new about this version, you might ask? Native compatibility across Windows, Mac, and Linux, higher resolutions and widescreen support, OpenGL rendering, new lightning and bloom effects, rebindable keys, and some other Steam-related bells and whistles. This version also brings back the original game's lost features, such as objective markers for your automap and the "Capture the Chalice" multi-player. It can be yours for $9.99, but between now and December 19, it's on sale for 25% off.

As a little tidbit of trivia, Samuel "Kaiser" Villarreal, the same guy who created custom levels for a bunch of FPS titles (Quake, F.E.A.R., Unreal Tornament, Serious Sam, etc.) and working on the Doom 64 EX port (and it's a damn fine one if I say so myself), has co-developed this enhanced version of Strife.

-EDIT-
System Shock 2 90% OFF on Steam for the next 40-something hours!!

-EDIT 2-
SYSTEM SHOCK 2 GET!

Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend is out on Steam now.

Its... considerably more expensive than Calamity Trigger at $30, but its 10% off now I guess, 20% if you're already an owner of Calamity Trigger.

I was wondering why it is Continuum Shift was more expensive. Did they actually keep the online intact or what?

FFXIII-2 is also out and from what I understand MGSV: Ground Zeroes releases on Steam in two days.

It sucks that the Japanese voice-overs has been axed for DLC when it's already there for the console releases. Then again I do enjoy the English dub of BlazBlue (compared to the likes of Trouble Witches NEO! on XBLA) that I haven't even bothered to switch the voice-over language since playing it. Having all of the system voice DLC from the console versions (I can enjoy Kokonoe's angelic voice everywhere I go) plus the OST and artworks from the game available is nice.
